Bow-mounted twin hawser hooks on Texaco's FSO 'Lombo Este', Angola

Quick-release chain hawser hook fitted with hydraulic remote-release, load pin and hawser
fast lead
Operational Features
The hawser hook simplifies the mooring process. The lead line from the hawser is winched through the fairlead and passes over the rollers at the rear of the hook. A drop link from the hawser locates on the hook.
Hawser hooks are ideal for FPSO operations where quick connection and quick release of take-off tankers in difficult sea conditions is imperative.
For dual leg mooring such as the bow mooring of an FPSO, hawser hooks can be provided with a simultaneous release facility. Releasing the hawser is by the manual hydraulic release unit located near to each stopper or by remote release from a console.
Installation
The hawser hook is bolted to a bed plate which is pre-drilled and tapped for the holding down bolts. The bed plate is welded into the vessel's deck structure and under deck stiffening is arranged to suitably transfer the mooring forces into the vessel's hull.
Optional Features
- A portable monitor using telemetry communication enables load information and alarms to be made available to personnel on board or on a shuttle tanker.
- Local display stations nearby to each hook can be supplied, suitable for Class 1 Zone 1 and Zone 2.
- Extensive software analysis by the report generator enables analysis of load events by date, time or magnitude.
- On-line continuous report printing.
